Good Afternoon,
This is Mayor Keffer with some important information for our community:
This coming Tuesday, July 19th, I will be hosting a town hall from 7-8pm at the Township building. Developing from the first ARPA Town Hall held on January 13, 2022 and the many community meetings, and public conversations at Council meetings, we will discuss the ARPA funding, and residents will be able to hear from department heads and community stakeholders on the importance of funding on many different initiatives. I encourage anyone who is able to attend this meeting - and all our town halls - not only to ask questions, but to share their feedback with us as well.
This year Upper Darby introduced its first Trash Fee Rebate program for Homeowners who qualify for the 2021 Pennsylvania Property Tax Rebate (PA-1000). Those who do are now eligible for a trash fee rebate of $100. For the form to apply please visit our website www.upperdarby.org/TrashFeeRebate. Please note that you must attach a copy of your PA-1000 State Rebate Check or the Notice of Direct Deposit. You may also call the Tax Office at 610.734.7604 for more information or to apply.
Our National Night Out event is Tuesday, August 2nd! The Upper Darby Police & Fire Departments have some amazing activities for our residents, so come check it out at the 69th Street Recreation Area from 6-8pm. If you are a non-profit looking to share information at this event, please email mayor@upperdarby.org for more details.
We have some other exciting summer recreation opportunities coming up soon. Cheng’s Martial Arts session two courses begin over the next two weeks. Courses include: Japanese Sword, many levels of Karate, Boxing, Women’s Kickboxing, Tai Chi, and Muay Thai.
