DELCO ALERT - November 23, 2020

Good evening everyone, I would like to give an update on COVID-19 guidelines and also let you know what we’re doing here in the township. According to the Governor’s new directive, if you are unable to stay 6’ apart even while outdoors, you are required to wear a mask. If you are indoors among people not in your household, you are required to wear a mask. You can read the Governor’s full guidance HERE

The township building remains closed to walk-in traffic. Many of our forms and services can be done online. In-person appointments can be made for certain business. Please call 610-734-7625 or email requests@upperdarby.org for assistance. Employees are following the State’s mask mandate. . Our sanitation staff still operates on a staggered schedule.

This has been a long 8 months and I thank everyone who has been doing their best to socially-distance, stay-in-place and wear masks. The numbers of test-positives, hospitalizations and deaths are drastically increasing. Please think about your family, friends, neighbors, health care workers and first responders as you go about your day. We have a while to go before a vaccine is ready for wide distribution. The more consistent mitigation efforts we do, the more we can help each other and get through this. Thank you for what you’ve done, are doing and will do to contain the spread of the virus.

We are still accepting resumes and cover letters for open positions on the Historic Commission, the Library Board, the Planning Committee and the Zoning Hearing Board. If you are interested in serving on any of these, please send your resume and cover letter to mayor@upperdarby.org.

Thanksgiving is a township holiday and there will be no trash or recycling collected on Thursday, November 26. On Friday, November 27, trash and recycling will be collected but the township building will be closed. Saturday, November 28 is Small Business Saturday. If you’re able, please consider purchasing a gift card or something else from one or more of our local businesses.

This is Mayor Barbarann Keffer wishing you a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
