2024 Leaf Collection

Every year, Upper Darby Township conducts leaf collection. This year the areas to be collected will be based on the DISTRICT MAP (1-7). District Map

Please follow the instructions below to prepare your leaves for collection.

Please do not use any bags for this collection.

Leaf collection will take place according to the schedule posted below, weather permitting. All leaves must be to the curb by Monday morning of your scheduled weeks for pickup. Any changes to the schedule will be posted to the township website.

Leaves mixed with grass trimmings, rocks, pieces of wood, or trash will not be collected.

** No trash, recycling or leaf collections will take place November 5, November 11 and November 28

October 21 thru October 25 – District 1, 3, 7

October 28 thru November 1 – District 2 & 5

November 4 thru November 8 – District 4 & 6

November 11 thru November 15 -- District 1, 3, 7

November 18 thru November 22 -- District 2 & 5

November 25 thru November 29 -- District 4 & 6

December 2 thru December 6 -- District 1, 3, 7 

December 9 thru December 13 -- District 2 & 5

December 16 thru December 20 -- District 4 & 6

Yard Waste Collection  -- Ends Friday November 1, 2024.

Upper Darby Township collects yard waste every week on your regular recycling day. Place yard waste in biodegradable paper bags or loose in trash cans without bags.

Yard waste includes:

• Leaves
• Garden residues
• Shrubbery
• Tree trimmings (4 inches or less in diameter and less than 3 feet long).

DO NOT USE plastic bags. Plastic Bags cannot be used to recycle yard waste and will NOT be collected.

DO NOT include grass clippings. Grass clippings are not considered yard waste and should be included with your regular trash collection.

Christmas Trees

Christmas Trees will be collected only on the designated recycling day for your area as listed in the calendar. Trees will only be collected if they are free of lights, ornaments, tinsel, tree stands and are NOT in plastic bags.
