Homeowners who qualify for the Pennsylvania Property Tax Rebate (PA-1000) are eligible for a trash fee rebate of $100.
1. Applicants must qualify under the PA-1000. The PA-1000 program benefits income-eligible Pennsylvanians age 65 and older; widows and widowers age 50 and older; and people with disabilities age 18 and older. You can file your PA-1000 online at mypath.pa.gov or print the form at 2024 Property Tax or Rent Rebate Claim (PA-1000). (The form requests your 2024 information to qualify for a rebate in 2025.) The income limit is $46,520. This amount includes but is not limited to any pension, wages, interest on accounts and 1/2 of your Social Security benefits.
2. Applicants must present proof of payment from the PA-1000 program indicating the amount received. Proof of payment includes the State Rebate check or the notice of Direct Deposit. The deadline to apply for the PA-1000 is June 30, 2025 and PA-1000 rebates begin to be issued by the state in early July 2025.
3. The Township must confirm that the applicant has paid the trash fee for 2025.
